Ilex asperula (also called Rough-leaved Holly, among many other common names) is a small evergreen shrub or tree that grows up to 10 feet tall. It has rough, dark green leaves and small white flowers. It is native to the southeastern United States, from Texas to Florida, and is found in open woodlands and along the edges of swamps and marshes.
