Description
Peucedanum nepalense (also called Himalayan Hog Fennel, among many other common names) is a perennial herb with a stout, erect stem and a dense, woolly, white pubescence. It is native to the Himalayas and is found in moist, shady places, such as along streams and in ravines.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Peucedanum nepalense has small, white, star-shaped flowers that are arranged in clusters. The flowers are followed by small, round, black seeds. The seedlings have two opposite, oval cotyledons and long, narrow, pointed leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Peucedanum nepalense can be propagated by seeds or cuttings. For seed propagation, sow the seeds in a well-drained potting mix and keep the soil moist. For cuttings, take a cutting from a mature plant and place it in a potting mix. Keep the soil moist and the cutting should root within a few weeks.
