Description
Angelica likiangensis (also called Likiang Angelica, among many other common names) is an herbaceous biennial plant native to China. It grows in moist meadows, grasslands, and along streams and rivers. It has large, furcate leaves and white flowers.
Uses & Benefits
Angelica likiangensis is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and is known for its attractive foliage and fragrant flowers. It is also used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat digestive issues and to improve circulation.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Angelica likiangensis has small white flowers with yellow centers. Its seeds are small and black. The seedlings are thin and have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Angelica likiangensis can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring or autumn in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer. Division in spring or autumn. Larger divisions can be planted out direct into their permanent positions. We have found it best to pot up the smaller divisions and grow them on in a cold frame until they are established before planting them out in late spring or early summer.
Where to Find Angelica likiangensis
