Description
Hippeastrum canastrense (also called Canastra Hippeastrum, among many other common names) is a species of bulbous plant found in Brazil. It is a terrestrial plant with a single, erect stem that grows up to 30 cm tall. It is found in the Atlantic Forest biome in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, growing in humid and shady areas, such as in the understory of the forest.
Uses & Benefits
Hippeastrum canastrense is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a houseplant. It is also used in traditional medicine to treat fever, headache, and stomach pain.
