Justicia rigida (also called False Waterwillow, among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub native to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. It has a spreading habit and grows to a height of 2-3 m. Its leaves are opposite, simple, and lanceolate with entire margins. It is found in moist areas such as stream banks, wet meadows, and swamps.
