Justicia alanae can be propagated by seed, division, or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer. Division can be done in spring or autumn. Larger divisions can be planted out direct into their permanent positions. Cuttings of young shoots can be taken in spring or summer and will root easily in a cold frame.
