Avicennia marina (also called Avicennia, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 6 meters in height. It is native to tropical Africa and is found in lowland rainforest and gallery forest. It is characterized by its large, glossy, ovate leaves and its yellowish-white flowers.
