Li Jinxiang meets with Caliberta, chairman of the African Green Revolutionary Alliance

 On July 11, Li Jinxiang, the chief veterinarian (official) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, met with Kaliberta, chairman of the African Green Revolution Alliance, in Beijing to exchange views on strengthening China-Africa agricultural cooperation.

Li Jinxiang said that in recent years, the African Green Revolution Alliance has given full play to its influential and resource-rich advantages. He added that the alliance has also promoted agricultural policy exchanges as well as economic and trade exchanges between the two sides, and helped the pragmatic development of China-Africa agricultural cooperation. China is willing to continue to deepen exchanges with the African Green Revolution Alliance, jointly formulate a list of key cooperation projects, and renew the memorandum of understanding on cooperation.

Kaliberta thanks China for its long-term support for Africa’s agricultural development, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of agricultural science and technology, agricultural trade, climate change response and capacity building.

The two sides also exchanged views on the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the Great Food View.
