The 2023 China Seed Conference and Nanfan Silicon Valley Forum were held in Sanya, Hainan from April 1 to 4. At the Rice Industry Chain Development Forum on the 2nd, the National Rice Industry Chain Big Data Platform, the first rice industry chain big data application service platform in China, was officially launched.
The national rice industry chain big data platform is supported by the capital construction project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and led by the China Rice Research Institute. Focusing on key links such as China’s rice varieties, production, market, consumption and trade, the platform collects and integrates data on the data collection and treatment standards of the rice industry, and changes the relevant data of production factors (grain resources, breeding, planting, diseases and pests, soil, agricultural resources, etc.), circulation prices, trade markets and enterprise entities into the available insights. The analyzed standardized database and the redevelopment specification have the interface of data replacement and sharing aspects, to promote the digitalization and informatization of the rice industry.
Xu Chunchun, deputy director of the Science and Technology Information Center of the China Rice Research Institute, said that the national rice industry chain big data platform has built five major analysis models, 10 business application systems, one comprehensive portal and a mobile application APP to realize the scientific analysis of different business scenarios of rice. At the same time, it accurately links end users, and provides services such as intelligent identification, remote prevention and control guidance, market supply and demand, data retrieval and analysis, new variety test demonstration, new technology integration display and other services.
“For example, for the topic of diseases and pests, the platform can make a statistical analysis of rice pests, natural disasters and prevention and control data, so as to count the number of annual pests, and analyze which year has the largest number of diseases, pests and natural disasters, and when and in what region, so as to guide rice farmers.” Xu Chunchun said.
After the platform is launched, authoritative rice-related index reports will be released regularly. In the future, we will also build a rice digital ecosystem with full coverage of digital production, full transformation of scientific and technological capabilities, and full docking of service networks. Xu Chunchun said that with users as the center, the national rice industry chain big data platform will form a comprehensive service platform. It will be jointly built and shared on a win-win situation and open to the government, enterprises, scientific research institutes, farmers and other multi-subjects.
