The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs established the promotion center as a part of the joint ‘measures to revitalize domestic demand’ announced in March, and plans to actively promote K-Food through events involving both Koreans and foreigners.
In the future, the ministry plans to promote and experience K-Food in conjunction with the Dream Concert (May 27), Boryeong Mud Festival (July 21-August 6), and World Scout Jamboree (August 1-12), and is preparing to work closely with food companies to ensure that domestic and international visitors can experience Korean food and Korean culture.
“We hope this event will help create an atmosphere for Korean food consumption,” said Yang Ju-pil, Food Industry Policy Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, adding, “we will continue to make efforts to enhance understanding and interest in our unique food culture and revitalize food tourism among Koreans and foreigners.”
