Italy Oranges: Parlapiano holds high the flag of the Ribera Orange

Italian company, Parlapiano Sicilia will present in Rimini at Macfrut 2023 the excellence of the Sicilian territory of which it is a leader in marketing and, in particular, the Ribera D.O.P Orange-the company’s flagship product-,the Organic Sicilian Orange, the Paradiso Orange, the Pera Coscia di Ribera and the Pescabivona IGP.

The 2022/2023 orange campaign, which has just ended, records a more than positive trend. Parlapiano Sicilia reconfirmed its supremacy in the sale of its orange produce “Arancia di Ribera D.O.P.,” unique in Italy for its organoleptic characteristics. The brand had already fully represented the product during the 2021/2022 citrus season , with 7,109,041 kg of certified production processed out of a total volume of 10,645,620 kg (official MIPAAF data). 

The consumer is always proving to be attentive and in search of regional typicalities of Protected Origin, such as the prestigious “Arancia di Ribera D.O.P.”

The historic Sicilian company, will be present as an exhibitor in Hall. B1-Stand 197.

Parlapiano Fruit Srl company is IFS, GLOBAL GAP (GRASP) and BIO certified.

Also known as the Ribera Orange PDO, with its blond pulp, easily peeled skin, sweetness and crunchy pleasantness thanks to the perfect balance between the soft and fibrous part, is suitable to be consumed either as fresh fruit, or squeezed, thanks to its high juiciness. It is a main source of vitamin C, a natural antioxidant that contributes to the strengthening of the immune system. It is suitable in gastronomic preparations, from appetizers to desserts, as the peel does not undergo any post-harvest treatment and is therefore edible (the technical term is edible). It is only washed with potable water and dried before packaging.

Among its distinguishing characteristics, the consistency of the pulp certainly stands out, such that the juice vesicles dissolve in the mouth leaving no membranous residue; so, when you eat it you almost have the sensation of drinking it. It has been produced in the Ribera area since 1930, thanks to the ideal climate, the excellent quality of irrigation water and soil, and the skillful work of farmers who employ cultivation techniques handed down from father to son. It is a true gift of nature, a fruit that encloses the rays and warmth of the Sicilian sun.

The valley of the “Arancia di Ribera D.O.P.” is a unique and unparalleled territory. Crossed by two rivers, it stretches over a valley enclosed by the Sicilian mountains in the northern part, which preserve the “Arancia di Ribera D.O.P. ” from the icy winds during the winter period and from the sea in the southern part. The seafront location ensures in summer the coolness derived from the sea breeze. It is an orange oasis totally detached from the regional Italian citrus context, for here, a special microclimate is created that gives the “Arancia di Ribera D.O.P.” the characteristics of excellence that distinguish it.
