Indonesia: Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province, is ready to support the one million hectare Indonesia rice harvest movement launched by the Ministry of Agriculture.
“We are ready to support the one million hectare rice harvest movement with 81,094 hectares of MT1 rice planted in this area,” said Head of Central Lampung Food Security and Horticulture Agency Jumali in Bandarlampung, Lampung, Monday.
He said based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in the January-March 2023 period, the harvest area in Central Lampung was estimated at 33,478 hectares, then in April-June at 47,616 hectares.
“The total production from 81,094 hectares of rice planting area is around 429,798 tons of grain,” he said.
He revealed that as a start in order to support the movement of a million hectares of rice harvest, it had been carried out in Untoro Village, Trimurjo District, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Lampung Provincial Government.
“In Untoro Village, the total area for the harvest is 216 hectares with a total production of 2,376 tons of grain,” he said.
He also mentioned that Central Lampung is a food crop centre in Lampung Province and also nationally, so it always strives to make innovations in order to increase Indonesia’s agricultural productivity and quality.
“Of course, in increasing agricultural productivity and quality, we also collaborate with the Lampung Provincial Government and the central government, in maximizing agricultural facilities and infrastructure at the farmer group level,” he said.
